I use the Eagle Pack Original Adult with 2 of my dogs. The other 3!!! got hot spots, perhaps because of the pork and corn ingredients? The first four ingredients in the Original Adult are: Pork Meal, Ground Yellow Corn, Ground Brown Rice, Chicken Meal. If it works for your dog, it really does a wonderful job with the coat. We live in a dry climate and it still keeps their coats very soft and nice. I am fortunate in that I do not have to have ONE food only. If I had to choose only one, that would be difficult, for each of my dogs does well on a different type of food. Trial and error is the only way to find out what food is BEST for your dog! :) Good luck!

I used it when I was really broke after a divorce for awhile. Coats were not so nice as with Eukanuba or Royal Canin, rather more stool volume, perhaps not so much muscle development even with a strong conditioning program (and the expected adjustment in vokume fed, of course) but otherwise no real gripes... considering the price.

There are different types now. They are making a holistic blend with quality ingredients, but is very costly. I have tried all of them and only like the holistic blends. My guys have beautiful coats and weight is good. During a vet visit the Dr. asked what I was feeding now and was pleased with the results of my female. She used to have that morning empty stomach vomit now and then. Since swithcing to this food it doesn't seem to bother her. The holistic blend includes acidophilis which may be helping.

Allot of brands are going "natural" now. They have always seemed the best quality but cost more in my experience. To me it's worth the price to cut out the fillers and pay for "real" food. I have dogs with allergies, so the holistics are best for us. One of my dogsa was on Eagle when I got her, I had made arrangments to purchase some special order. No one around here carries it. After reading the ingredients, I didn't think the quality justified the price. Maybe thats just in my area??
