Hey folks, here are some observations from analysis of hind quarters . As always, send in those comments. 1. Over angulated hind is a big waste. I am not sure if I can express this well. Let me try.. Hind leg, however long has only limited room to move forward. So, an over angulated hind will compensate by moving less backwards too, generating less thrust. Interestingly, an over angulated front would not compensate an over angulated hind. The reason is the limit to how much the forehand can move. In other words, the hind leg cannot move much farther forward, than the forehand can move backwards. 2. Sharper the croup, more the loss of power. For some reason, I did not find too much difference in efficiency of movement depending on length of croup. This might be an error on my part - I am checking again. 3. Shorter hocks seem to be better for efficient movement.

if both ends are over angulated, we still have balance. some one always posts there are no perfect dogs, yet these imperfect dogs move well, with some out moving others, study movement on the dogs. I'm gonna go with Lenny, there are books out there. better yet there are shows where one can see the real thing. computer programs are for Bill Gates rich life style.
