My 8 month old gsd just was X rayed. One elbow is perfect and the other elbow has a UAP. My question is if it is ever possible for the UAP to heal and fuse back together. Say if I were to limit exercise etc. Or is surgery the only option? I would hate to put my dog through surgery if it is not necessary, he currently does not limp or show any signs of pain.

not a vet, but chances are slim that it seals this late. there are surgical options.

If the vet diagnosed him with UAP, it won't fuse. Only way to fix it, is through surgery.
