GSDtravels

So, I was on my way out on a call, when I saw a small white bird fly to a telephone wire at the corner.  I had my camera and zoomed in to see what white bird was frequentling Braddock!  Just as I zoomed, he flew to the parking lot next door and voila, it was a budgie!  He was trying to hobnob with the sparrows and went under a car, then jumped up on the window of the building.  It took some time, but I caught him!  First thing I did was clip his wings, then I found a box.  He's a cute little bugger and even when I picked him up, I was expecting him to draw blood and was prepared, but he just nibbled on me :)  I don't have a cage, I gave him some seed and water and I have no idea what I'm going to do with him, I didn't have any takers all afternoon.  I told them to put up a notice in the store near where he was found, but he could have come from anywhere.  I'll scan "lost and found" in the Post Gazette and I posted him on FB, but I doubt I'll find his owner.   The Borough secretary suggested I name him "Brad", short for Braddock, so Brad it is!  He's now in the dining room, on the table, with a guard dog watching over him (waiting for the escape!).  I put my berry netting over the box, but I'm sure he'll get through that pretty easily, so I'm keeping an eye on him.  I'll put him in the spare room overnight and take him back to work tomorrow.  If nobody claims him, I don't know what I'm gonna do.  I love birds, but right now I don't want to take one!

The sparrows were eyeing him up!

There is no way you can give Brad up now. It would be like denying part of your destiny. Unless he is a lost beloved pet. Look how HAPPY he is in just his little cardboard box! Happy!

I just finished his temporary home.  I'll take the netting off overnight, I don't want him to get tangled in it.

I don't need books, I kept budgies for years.  I've had lots of birds, my favorite being a conure.  But I don't really want a bird right now, I don't know that Drake won't eat him, if given the opportunity.  As soon as something moves fast, he's on it!

Thanks bee, I always have pieces of dowel laying around for some strange reason.  I'm making tiramisu tonight and I used the ladyfinger boxes for support :)
