Could you please specify your question. Are you talking about her not producing progesterone during her season or in general? And how do you know she is not producting it?

Could you please specify your question. Are you talking about her not producing progesterone during her heat or in general? And how do you know she is not producting it? Did you have her tested?

After spending over 300 dollars on blood tests! and the lab tell me that my female was not producing  progesterone I bred her anyway, she was excepting the male so they mated and now she has a belly full of puppies!
so should I go back to the lab and ask for my money back? If I had listened to them I would have not bred her it would have been useless according to the blood work !  so I'm just wondering if they took me or they just didn't know what they were doing. all the blood work was done at my vet and sent to the lab!

Probably a lab error.  I had a similar situation where progesterone was tested and it came back little or nothing and the vet told me that she would lose the litter after the ultrasound showed a litter developing normally. Took her back for another ultrasound 2 weeks later and she looked fine.  Lab was clearly wrong.  They can't carry a litter without progesterone.  Vet finally admitted that the lab was wrong.

Find new lab, new vet.  Otherwise if your bitch was not producing progestrone she would be sterile.  Does not sound like that is the case.  Best of luck  Nan
