Wow, Kitkat! I was told this type of mange isn't transmitted to humans or other dogs. I hope that is correct.

Demodex is not contagious to other animals or humans. Be careful with the use of Ivomec, as some dogs have a sensitivity to Ivermectin and can die, the MDR1 gene also known as Collie Ivermectin Sensitivity (http://www.vetmed.wsu.edu/depts-VCPL/index.aspx) I've had a dog with Demodex in that spot and also around the eyes, about the same age. I used Pyoben shampoo, there is also a gel, it helped clear it up pretty quickly. I've also heard success with the Goodwinol ointment.

Well star, we both caught it, but, most people don't get that close a contact either,
I have been using Ivermectin for 20 years on my German Shepherds with never an issue. The mites on your dog are not severe and really should be able to be stopped with topical use, and, like I said, I like the NuStock.

maybe the foxes had sarcoptic mange and not Demodex? Demo cannot be passed to humans.
