djc, if you can get your dog in a series 400 crate the cost one way with American Airlines is only $110 USD if the dog accompanies you on the trip. Slightly higher with a series 500 crate($140). The deal with the 500 crates is that they don't fit in the regional Eagle jets or the American MD(Super)-80s. Don't know where you are, but they fly from Chicago O'Hare to Frankfurt and from Dallas to Frankfurt daily. No need to spend $1500 one way. Stephen

Forgot to mention AA has a 100 pound prt limit to get those prices, anything more than that go to AA Cargo and that price goes up.

Thanks for the info SGBH. I have flown Lufthansa in the past and never had a problem (dog cost about $209 Xtra baggage). This trip to Germany for the Sieger Show we used Singapore Airlines. Going over was a great trip and we brought extra crates empty and broken done at no extra cost. Coming back we brought one adult dog for $200 additional Euro but they don't allow pups under 6 months to fly. Best to check ahead.

Thanks Kathty, you have made my point, could not sleep last night, I seeeee.... Paranoid and dilutional, It is common knowledge on the Net and Your Region. How many GSD Boards have you been banned from? Oh..., I forgot. Poor Kathy, nobody will play with her. I am going to tell the Head Master! LOL By the way, I think SGBH ment their post for your friend Debby unless your new screen name is djc! Kathy, take some advise, try to get along with others. You could be a nice person???????????????? or NOT! Fear biting is bad, lack of control, I know you know all about that subject! Remember...... PS Other Names TROLL aka SPAETZLE aka Elizabeth! BUSTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SGBH You have repeated everything that I said. the 500 crate limit only applies to domestic small aircraft. there are no small commercial aircraft that fly over the ocean. YES there is a weight limit and that is precicely why it would have cost $1500 one way. anything over 100lbs has to go cargo rate. Your theory, LaPorte, would be fine if it were here in the USA, but not in Germany where they have shows ALL of the time. There is no reason why a dog there would not or should not have a tremendous amount of experience on many different fields and many different helpers as well as travel experience. Maybe some should be insulted... that way they might get it in their head to improve instead of train just to get by. Besides, some of this boards people on the most "respected" list do not agree that dogs need to be titled before breeding. You all can defend and make excuses for the poor work at the sieger show all day long. same ole same ole. the facts still remain and will be shown in history on video forever. if you think that even "top" trainers do not train a dog just to squeek by at the owner's request then you are only fooling yourself. Tiger you can not "expose" something that has always been public information. There is no hiding. No reason to. I do not need your instructions on ANYTHING thank you very much. There is nothing on your past comments that shows any intellegence. Only defending your friends. You have not accomplished anything at any level that is public information. Why? Not only do I have Vet Tech experience, AKC competition experience, and have raised GSD's for 36 years, but I have sch 2 titled a dog myself and been sch training for the past 7 years. Most of those years have been at a working line club. Now only private training. Why haven't you given us your credentials? Debby

Tiger says of Kathy, "But,your cheap shot hostile attitude and statements on this board and others have made you a obvious gnat worthy of swating!" LMAO! You tiger are the only one with the cheap hostile attitude, just look at your posting history! You started the attack and that is seemingly your forte. All hidden behind annonimity and not even the balls to let all critique you. WHY?

by LaPorte on 25 September 2006 - 13:09

djc, you missed my point. You cannot compare the 'performance' of a untitled dog in a private training session to how a titled dog performs under great stress at the biggest show in the world. At this point, your 18 month old has not even proven himself at a small club trial - and lest we forget, getting the title means tracking and obedience too. You can have the greatest biting dog in the world, but the sport tests 3 phases. If your dog can't track or retrieve, then he'll either never make it to the working class, or you'll be tempted to get one of those "bought" titles you talk about. I am not defending Seiger show bitework - it's actually one of my pet peeves that it is often ugly. Same with the fact that so many 'show' people don't train and title their own dogs. Makes me nuts, actually. I just think your statements about following the "rules" all too selectively apply, and that your statements about your dog biting better than the dogs over there? You don't have any basis for those statements. Your dog hasn't been in those conditions. I am NOT saying anything about the quality of your dog, I am talking about the quality of your statements. Let us know when he gets his legit title, off his home field and off his home helper - oh, and also his SchH2 and SchH3, in strange places and with strange helpers as well. And keep us posted when he competes at a national - oh, wait, world level. If he breezes thru everything as you think will happen? Good for you! My guess is that unless your trials are arranged with favorable circumstances, you will get a hard lesson in reality at some point along the way...after all, you are human, and he is a dog.

Poor dilutional Tiger. If it helps you cope with your obviously disappointing life, you can call me whatever. Perhaps someday you will find out who those characters really are and quite amusing they may find out who you are. Until then please just don't hurt yourself. Try to find something positive to dwell on. I think enough space and time has been wasted on this personal exchange. Take care

Rules for the sport/show are international and are supposed to be the same for all. Breeding "rules" are not. I am not in Germany therefore not governed by their breeding rules. Yup, time will tell.

Hey guys I am sitting here looking over my recommendation post to djc and her response to me. Been looking over that for a bit now and she definatly did not receive what I wrote and intended her to receive. Big disconnect there. I think she is in a defensive mode(not being critical or negative here, just observant) here and the best of the interchange on this subject has been made and is behind you all. Maybe everyone can just agree to disagree, because communication has broken down here. It's a train wreck. Stephen
