"I was just reading about a shepherd who was doing schutzhund with his herding dog." It wasn't too terribly long ago that people were discrediting Schutzhund dogs as SAR dogs calling them too vicious/sharp to be SAR dogs. I'm still not amused by this "joke."

One ad may be a joke, but placing two ads slightly different wording is not.

Well, color does matter when it doesn't fall within the acceptable colors in the breed standard. And that is what we have here ..... Call it what you want.. it is some sort of a genetic mixup.... however, it should stop once it is proven the parents produce it. It becomes no better to me than a labradoodle, a pomerpoo, a whatever..... It's not funny, not one bit...

"The show ring at the rare breed club in Canada,ALWAYS have his nose on the ground.." Calming signals because he's stressed/freaked out? "Great with children, other dogs but slightly weary of strangers at first..." So he's got a crappy temperment. Good breeding program ya got there.

Colour matters in the BREED RING. I do agree that these dogs should not be given full recognition. But they ARE GSD's, the DNA proves it, so there is no reason they can't compete in tracking, obedience, etc.

"Great with children, other dogs but slightly weary of strangers at first" Didn't we just have a thread in which everyone agreed they did not want their GSD to be too friendly with strangers?? Cut the crap, maligator! That does NOT mean he has a crappy temperment! You're going out of your way to find fault with the dog.

Bxr, so EVERYONE in your Schutzhund club is impressed with his drive?? What's the name of your club? Post his pedigree, I'd like to see all these "well known dogs" in there. So what was the point of the "joke" by posting him for sale??? I've read the ad a couple times and it seems pretty sincere to me.

There is a reason why there is a "Breed Standard" this pup does not fall under that catagory. This type of dog should not be bred period. It just proves once again that people will breed anything.

By the way, what's the diference between a shepherd with a spot of white on the chest and one with more white on other parts of the body. Not to be facicious or anything I just want to know if there is a difference in the genes. Bradley Watson
