Looks like you and your puppy are having fun.

I've been doing mini hikes (4-6mi) in the Sandia's for a month now , but I am really itching to to take the fifth wheel up to Colorado and do some serious hiking and camping.

Yeah, I miss the Sandia's and everything around. Cibola National Forests etc., Blue Heron Lake and Elephant Butte. I was on a 6 on 3 off schedule when there so I would throw a dart at the map and wherever she landed was gone for three days!

Miss the rappelling too.

i love hikes....been hiking all my life my... when i lived with my parents we used to hike across mountains to Black Sea for 3 days, than stay at the beach in a tent for few days and hike back...now I hate to do it alone w/ just dogs...but hate whiners who come along even more...LOL..i need to teach my dogs how to use my phone..just in case of emergency..... Smokey mountains in TN are looking prettier and prettier every day...

Yeah I hear ya LF, I was taking a breather there. My bud a deputy and his wife I go hiking with calls me up and says "we're hiking" I said 'I'll be there".  After meeting up and starting they tell me "we made a mistake and this hike is a 25 mile hike, we flipped em, can you hang?"  It was a work out. And since I was already there I couldn't say "NO". Those dogs.......... four legs and closer to the ground. Doesn't phase them. Only makes them sleep better at night.

This might be back on the "natural/low maintenance" thread but I love it when you want to live off the fat of the land but the girl needs a cabin and electricity! Oh yeah, and the shower! I would hand them the bar of soap and point to the river and say "there you go!" If they wouldn't/couldn't then that was pretty much their last outdoor adventure (with me) then?
