A spectacular performance by a five year old bitch German Shorthair Pointer. Moved with great rhythm and extension and self posed flawlessly. A really excellent moving animal.

She is a lovely dog, isn't she? Did you watch the breed judging on the videos? I hope I don't start WWIII by saying this, but I really like Genny, the GSD BOB winner. She looks a lot like her sire, Dallas.

by HOWDEDO on 16 February 2005 - 07:02

Sporting group was very nice in general, and the GSP was out of the world - superbly handled too.

by sunshine on 16 February 2005 - 07:02

Blitzen, did you tape the show? Did not get to see it? Having a GSP in the family so to speak, makes me happy. The BOB Frenchie comes from a sire from our KC. How did the Dobes do? Friend of mine is expecting pups from the top Dobe in the Country in March. Really would love to get my hands on any tapes.

by Lenny on 16 February 2005 - 07:02

I'm afraid I am not a fan of the German Sheperd winner. She has the most serious anatomical deficiency, a dip in the topline. The Germans would call it a sway back. I could go on and on with her short comings but I will just leave it at that.

by Riley on 16 February 2005 - 07:02

The GSP was a beautiful bitch regardless of whether you knew anything about the breed standard or not. She was stunning. I have to say I'm biased against little dogs and was thrilled to see Coco finally taken off the pedastal. The Border Collie was horrendous.

by Blitzen on 16 February 2005 - 08:02

LOL, no denying that the Germans and the Americans do not agree on what is a correct topline. I did not tape the show, but you can see it at westminsterkennelclub.org and follow the links to the video. The Dobe, a young red male, took 3rd I think. I think you can buy a tape of the entire show. I was just glad that a toy poodle didn't win - no offense meant to anyone who owns a poodle, either Am lines or imported. (Yes, I do know that poodles are not originally from France LOL).

Believe it or not, we have a top poodle person also in our KC who said the poodle was an absolute disaster. "Politics". Je suis ignorante. Blitzen want to see some dobie babies in March? Come on by while the electricity is still on. I sure miss Charlie!
