I have recently purchased a young bitch that I'm having trained before coming to the states..the seller is charging me an additional 100 euro to transport her two hours to the trainers...I have purchased many dogs and the price to the trainers/airport has always been included in the purchase price...any opinions on this? Happy New Year to all GSD lovers World Wide!

Hi everyone, I think after seeing and reading all these heart breaks over "mal-formed" and ill conceived contracts could'nt one of you knowledgeable gentleman or ladies who is experienced setup an ftp site on their local webserver and post sample bulletproof contracts papers in MS word format?? I think it is fairly clear by now that there are people who are having tough time closing dogsale deals and don;t know whom or where to turn for help. What better than this website platform for professional help for the novices and newer entrants into the GSD world This may be an ideal Christmas gift for us novices :) regards vikram

Well - did you ask for transport when you bought the dog? I was charged 100E for picking up a dog by a "friend" of a "friend" because "she is not making anything on the dog" - then found out via a horse trainer friend from the Netherlands, that she doubled the price of the dog nearly!!!!! On the other hand, 100E for 4 hours traveling, probably more with loading and social nicities, and then plus gas - which is pricier there than here - is not so much if you are satisified that you got a fair price on the dog and are happy with it....it is pretty much goign to take this person the best part of a day to do this for you. I know that I have paid 100E to get a dog to the airport from Belgium which is a bargin when you consider what Gradlyn would charge to go pick it up.

Hello, I lived in Germany and before that had dogs that needed to be transported. It is always been my experience to be charged for everything. It makes sense and seems more than fair when you think of the cost of gas. He could just charge you more up front. We should expect to see things become even more expensive with the rise of the Euro dollar. It is also very hard for everyone in Germany to adjust.

100 E seems vry reasonable --- most people in the USA pay 100 for limo service to an airport ..-- time and money costs as some have put it e.g. gasoline is very fair -- besides if you have a trained dog even though oyu paid for it ..-0- gee a 100 E is insignificant --iof you make issue with that just wait for your vet bill and food bill -- also i would like to know ... did you pay for the impfass booklet/ vet certificate to approve travel ?? -- if you didn't then you win some lose some -- the person you bought the dog from is not all that bad

Costs should be negotiated in the deal. If they are not, they are additional as in any business arrangement. I find I can usually get about an hour travel included. More than that and it's an additional cost. Those costs are reasonable to me.

I think 100 Euro is a very fair price considering the price of fuel and a perosns valuable time. Over here in Germany that is really not much money for a days traveling- and depending on what type of transportation they have, the majority of that 100 Euro is going towards fuel expenses.

Costs seem reasonable to me also, but probably should've been negoiated in the prior arrangement..The seller should've represented the transport costs upfront..
