when will hip problem show up in a young dog.what will be the indications of a dog showing a hip problem.plz inform me in detail since i want to differenciate between a loose hind and a hip problem

Xray the dog. Can xray as early as 12 weeks.

A dog can develop hip dysplasia as early as 3 month old. When it will show? Depends on a dog and the severity of the condition. In my pup it shoed up at about 4 months old, and became very bad at 6 month. Watch for “bunny hop”, when the pup hops like a rabbit rather than trots while running. Difficulty getting up is another indication. Loose hind does not necessarily mean hip problem. If you suspect something - take an X-ray.

Sometimes PUPS will act as though they have a hip problem only to be found to have Pano (it comes with the bunny-hop also).They will outgrow the Pano in up to 16 months. Best advice X-RAY!

What is it Pano?

Hi Makosh, Panosteitis, or Pano, to put it simply, is actually the same as growing pains in human children. When seen on an x-ray it shows up as a shadow in the long bones. As Kennyr says, they grow out of it. Lazy puppy sits can sometimes be just that. I had a young dog who was extremly lazy and lounged to the side, didn't like taxing himself (still doesn't at 7 years of age). He wound up with Normal hips, 0-1 score, not before I worried myself sick about him though. I believe when he had a growth spurt, he would just outgrow his strength, like a child does.
