There is an excellent club in San Jose, and several others close by - all with excellent National and World-level trainers, helpers and competitors.  You are very lucky to have close access to these clubs and trainers.  Check out the USA website for contact info for clubs in your area.

You are fortunate to live in the middle of the heart of ScH sport in this country. I am jealous!

South County S.C. and San Jose S.C. Both meet at Coyote, CA.field.  Both excellent clubs. A few miles north just East of the Dumbarton Bridge is Menlo Park S.C, another really great club. The good news is you can join one and still be welcome at nearly any other club in the NW Region whenever you feel like working on another field with different people. A few bucks donation and you will be a welcome guest nearly anywhere.

We have MANY good clubs in the bay area!  One reason why I'll put up with the traffic and high cost of living!

In San Jose, there are actually 2 clubs, San Jose German Shepherd Dog Club and South County Schutzhund Club, they both train at the same field but on different nights.  They usually train together and have 4 wonderful helpers!  They have some of the best handlers in the country!  Martin & Thomas Vollrath, Terry Macias, David Dellesegus, Gus Elfar, Deleta Jones - All World team handlers!

There is also the Menlo Park Schutzhund Club in the bay area, with great handlers like Ajay SIngh, and David Witmer, Joel Monroe is the helper out there, he is our regional training director.  They train on Wednesday nights, and Sunday afternoons.

My club Alameda County Schutzhund club is located in Livermore off of the 580.  We enjoy training with new people, or those just stopping by on their travels.  Our club helper is Jose Lopez, a national level helper, and a great people person, and is one of the safest helpers I have worked with.  We are the most fun club - but I am biased since it's my club

We also have Placer County Schutzhund Club up in the Sacramento area, with great trainers, John Raboni, and another world team handler Jim Lempner.

I feel very lucky to have such great clubs all within a 1-2 hour drive, which is nothing around here!  Feel free to call if you need any help getting in touch with anyone!

Our NW Regional Championship is next weekend September 22 & 23 and will be held at the San Jose club field.  Please stop by if you are in the area!
