If I might be a bit inquisitive, what does RSV2000 offer that say the SV, GSDCA, USCA and WDA don't?  Is the organization just different for the sake of being different or has it found and has now chosen to flaunt the illusive "Holy Grail" of the dogsport world?  Has it been endowed by its creator with some greater wisdom, finer service or higher knowledge than is available from the other "Breeding and/or Training Organizations"?

Here in the states, we have USCA, DVG, WDA, GSDCA  and now RSV2000 all offering IPO and other VDH recognized degrees. All those clubs/groups save DVG can and most do offer Breed Events ,i.e.; Shows and Breed Surveys for German Shepherd Dogs.  USCA,  AKC and now RSV2000 all offer Breed Registries as do possibly another group or two. USCA, DVG, WDA and GSDCA all offer resident IPO judges whose degrees are SV and/or VDH recognized.   GSDCA and possibly USCA offer SV recognized Breed Judges. GSDCA has two fully licensed WUSV Breed Judges.  GSDCA and possibly WDA and USCA offer DNA certifications. USCA , WDA and GSDCA offer SV dental,  hip and elbow certifications. Admittedly, I don't know where WDA stands now, but USCA and GSDCA offer a combined team to compete against the finest and best trained German Shepherd Dogs in the World at the WUSV World Championship.

Can anyone tell me what void RSV2000 fills?

Richard; I am not endorsing the RSV2000, just trying to answer the jist of your question. After Herr Doctor Riser stepped down from being the head breed warden of the SV, he started the RSV2000. He has a vision and an adjenda to improve the breed. He trys to implement these ideas thru his organization. Dr Riser has been working champ at the BSP. he has many decades as a GSD person. he is one person who has tried to improve the breed for many years. this is his latest attempt. Your last question of '' filling a void'' is one every single GSD owner should ask. How does my involvement with my dogs fill a need of the breed? I wish the club in florida the best of luck in their quest towards a better GSD. Lead by good example.

"Can anyone tell me what void RSV2000 fills."

RSV 2000 formed as an alternative to the show line centric SV and perceptions (reality?) of a culture where too many dubious titles are awarded and less than standard temperament perpetuated.

It is those perceptions that have allowed Helmut a foothold in Germany (and now the U.S.) as a hedge against the SV, it's politics, and it's too frequent self (human) serving compromises.

It may or may not be THE answer many hope for.  Time will tell...

RSV2000 is just another option. Obviously Richard you arent a fan of Riser,s and thats okay but they do have some good idea,s involved with breeding, trialing and testing. In the end the responsibility of the working dog comes down to the breeder and keeping the working ideals first and foremost important in that endeavor. I personnely could give a rats A__S what the politically motivated and the left leaning feel is correct.

Student, Raiser didn´t "step down", the delegates unelected him twice ( the first time SV lost due to law order, not due to votes ).
During his short career as breed warden he had a lot of good ideas, but neither the officials nor the delegates were willing to follow him.

I think he simply tried to change too much too soon, and although I never talked to Mr Raiser personally ( I only had the pleisure to see him on the BSP ), he is not known to be diplomatic Shades Smile. In Germany we say "He runs his head against a wall". A lot of people didn´t like this attitude.

Exactly (what Susie said).

un elect?  Well he held the position and pushed for correctness. For this I applaud. I do think working from within is more productive than from outside. I wished he had stayed put even after being un elected. If i remember correctly, He repalced Herr Buss [ un elected] because of many breed violations with the named father on his pedigree being disproven by DNA and entire litters being stricken. Sounds like we need someone to do the good fight, not fight for the sake of fighting.
