Haz

At the Sieger Show in Grays Summit (St. Louis) this year only two of the males earned the maximum rating of 5/5. One was  the Sieger and the other the last placed dog.  Others did well and some not so well but only two got the maximum rating.

VKGSDs

I didn't complain because other than that bullshit, I actually liked the judge.  My dogs didn't win their classes but I thought his assessments overall were fair and accurate.  He was very kind to my puppy (who is sable and stuck out like a sore thumb, but his critique was all very positive).  As far as judging goes, it was one of the better shows I've attended.  But yeah the "pronounced" BS when the dog does not engage on the long bite and then the helper panics and stuffs the sleeve in his mouth after the fact so no one can blame him for trying to fail a dog is kind of embarassing to me, as someone who usually has working line dogs and is always trying to convince my WL friends to enter their dogs, do breed surveys, etc.  I had a friend with me and this was the first show/survey event she ever attended and it was an eye-opener for her, not necessarily in a good way.

I do like the rating system for the performance tests, I just hope they don't go the same way (giving dogs 4 or 5 for bites that aren't full, chewing, avoidance, etc).

The same fluff you see at any seiger show. If you want to complain the proper person would be the trial secretary then the director of judges but it still won,t get you any where. The helper works for the judge. What I would like to see is a helper stand up to a judge and say if you don,t want to do the attack on the handler properly as written or the Courage test(cough) then you need to find a different helper. When that happens I,d carry the helper off the field on my shoulders.

dobermannman  said That's what I love about the PDB. Lots of people making dumb statements about stuff they know nothing about. Those are show Dobermanns NOT Working Dobermann. I can find 10X as many videos of Seiger shows where Showline GSD's look as bad or worse then any Dobermann on that video.  Isn't there a breeder you guys can bash.

of course  you can find GSDs from showlines liek that .  That is the point.

Unfortunetly you can find "Working line dogs" (no breed left out) that look like that also.
