Jenni78, I was worried about that. Will they be able to tell if it is the back of the joint or if there is actually an issue?

I'm not trying to be an ass, if that's what you're getting at. I'm just saying, if any other vet on the planet came up with this positioning, he'd be getting thrashed. What makes the structure of this dogs joints so different that the "master" chose to position him this way?

These threads are often used for educating ourselves, why get so defensive?

I would think a radiologist would know/could tell, but my instinct, if it were my dog, is I'd have had them shoot another with the leg flatter on the table to ensure a true picture. Because that is a sizable osteophyte if that's what it is. :/ What did Dr. Davis say about it?

Knee caps rotated inward is not an issue, in terms of positioning. I have seen many shot like this as of late. Over-rotated inward is better than under-rotated. Additionally, the pelvis is pretty straight. That is important. Where exactly the legs fall, if the pelvis is symmetrical, is not of prime importance.

Ok, thank you! Dr. Davis said that they looked good and should pass. It could be that he didn't look at it close enough. I know I didn't see it on the little screen we where looking at, and we didn't look at it for that long. He was happy with them. Thank you so much for your advice. I have done extensive research on hips which is why I chose Dr. Davis. Really extremely happy with the hips and positioning. Hope that elbow comes out good. If not, I will have him do it again. Thanks again!
