CE is more common in dogs with transitional vertebra, that already has been documented; but not all dogs with transitional vertebrae develop CE, and not all dogs with CE have a transitional vertebrae. I've seen as many pet dogs with CE as I've seen working dogs that were affected, so I'm not sure where the idea that it's a condition that's limited to working dogs spring from; likewise, spondylosis is not the purview of only the working dogs, and it is seen in senior dogs from all walks of dogdom. I've seen no documentation linking CE and spondylosis, although I know that there are dogs that will be affected with both conditions--again, however, not all CE dogs have spondylosis, and not all dogs with spondylosis have CE.
