Not the same thing, here. The drug has been in production for 63 years, some scmuck buys the exclusive rights ( monopoly= unethical) to the drug, and jacks the price up by 5,000% ...that is price gouging. This isn't aspirin were talking about, its a drug that some patients need long term to even survive. The cost for their treatment under the price gouging is over half a MILLION dollars, for a single pill, twice a day that prior to the gouging was only $13. ×2 per day. Plus, this isn't a product they have a choice from whom to buy....the guy bought a monopoly for the drug, which is NOT capitalism. Nor, do these people Choose to buy the drug...they MUST buy it to survive and become healthy again. The problem with the USA health care is that it has become BIG BUSINESS ...all about profits at the expense of human lives and health. Much of the rest of the civilized world has compassion for fellow humans and health care isn't all about the bottom line.

There are monopolies in all things where big bucks are involved. I am not saying you are wrong but there are 2 sides to everything. To be honest I am working 16 hour days and haven't read any of this.

Monopolies were against the law till deregulated by Reagan ( I think ). Sanders wants to put an end to monopolies. Someone needs to.
Anyway, this guy is a speculator or hedge fund operator or what ever, shit I don't know . but he buys a drug that's been around, (WHO lists the drug as a MUST have) been around more than 60 yrs..its been earning the little company $5 million a year...who the fk needs more money than that to live on, plus the drug only cost ONE dollar each to manufacture...but this little puke needs to charge $700 PER PILL....why? The research has been long since paid for...Every thing was already Profit. The reason he did the price hike was greed, pure and simple, greed and he's obviously a sociopath the way he has acted in the media and on twitter.

We agree on one thing here this guy is a douche.

The price he is charging for a MUST have medication makes him big pharma. Plus, I called him a 'big pharma wannabe'. In an interview, he said he wants to grow to a big company. The last drug company he was at, he got fired and they are suing him for 65 million. He was price gouging people for a drug used to keep them alive with kidney disease.
