i need some advice--under upcomming litters there is a breeding of Eick and ASTRA
this female ASTRA on ALL of her videos is holding her left front leg up as if she is hurt?
even in one of her photo's?
does anyone know what happened to this dog.
yes i did write to them and ask about this because i wanted to buy a pup for my husband from this litter.
they NEVER answered me
why would they not tell me what happened.
there is nother about hips or elbows cleared from dysplasia.
i think this is one of the best kennels in the world
but i don't know what to do? move on and forget about a puppy from this litter? or maybe someone here knows what happened to her?
thanx Claire

I saw the video's and it does look odd. But I had a bitch who, when in drive would hold up her paw. There was nothing wrong with her leg, elbows OFA normal etc. but she'd just hold it up when she was in drive. I wouldn't write off a pup just yet, but would want to hear from the breeder about it.

I have an older working-line bitch who will do that every time she is excited and waiting for her next move. It reminds me of a "pointer" stance when I see it. And, she has fine elbows. I would not be too concerned, but of course one should aways make a thorough investigation before the purchase of any puppy or dog.
Best Regards,

I would try to contact them and ask about it. Papers can't tell you everything. If you see something that you don't like walk away and wait for a different litter. They are reputable and its hard to find any one that had bad experience with them and thats something to brag about.

If I were you I would try to contact the breeder again. I have viewed the ad myself and find nothing wrong with the female physically. I know the owners from Eurosport personally and can tell you that they are definitely experienced and honest people. I don't mean any disrespect but I would have to assume you are fairly new to dogs. The female that you are inquiring about is definitely a high drive female and they sometimes can show this type of behaviour of holding up a foot at times because of stress or extreme drive. This does not mean that anything is wrong with the dog. If you watch the video's of the female working you will see that after she bites the sleeve her movement is perfectly normal without any problems. They may be very busy and haven't had the time to respond to you.

You did not mention when you sent her the email. They travel alot and go to competitions, sometimes she does not answer her emails right away. Depending on how long it's been since you sent her the email, that may be the reason she has not answered. They have always returned my emails and answered everything I asked. Taunya will tell you the truth and not hold back, she is usually the one that does the emailing.
Sincerely,
Debbie

claire,
That does look odd to me too. I would certainly want to know also.

A lot of dogs hold up a paw when excited, my female does this almost everytime when we are throwing the kong, almost anticipating me throwing it for her. I have seen many high drive dogs do it as well. I wouldn't be concerned about holding up a paw.
A very good friend of mine just imported two pups from them, and he imported his male three years ago, he love the service and is very happy with his the dogs that he has received from them. Give it some time if they are not answering your emails. But the paw thing is pretty common.
