Gallery hopping in SoHo, walking the Highline, cutting through Washington Park to the Watercolor Show and the Chelsea art scene in NYC yesterday, with the glorious spring weather, was a pretty perfect day.
I couldn't help to notice the dogs, all over! And admit I was hoping to catch a glimps of Mithuna and his GSD gal. I was ever on the lookout. No such luck! I did not see a single GSD, at all.
What I did see that surprised me was a Rhodesian Ridgeback. How one makes that work from the African savannah to the concrete jungle has to be a huge commitment. That dog however, appeared quite well adjusted, and behaved. I saw a chocolate lab, a Standard poodle, various mid-sized mixed breeds. A cute social pit bull puppy came by and gave us some fun sniffing, his owner let us enjoy his petting, too. I saw some weiner dogs, and puggle looking things, those little dogs were quite plenty. Very popular was the Boston Terrier in my unofficial breed poll.
The winner breed by far, though, was the incredibly adorable, French Bulldog. One fawn colored French Bulldog in particular was the BOB for the day, the cute factor just was off the charts! NYC loves the French Bulldog!
