I have a dual purpose apbt and he is awesome at tracking and narcotics and excells in bitework but im wondering can i ruin any bitework by spanking a dog when he does something like rolli in poop? He cowards when spanked but i rarely scold him cuz he is a good dog but will it ruin any bitework

I don't think it would "Ruin" Him, but why would you spank him for rolling in that wonderful smelling poop?
Really, Hitting him is most likely not the answer. That is you reacting for being frustrated with him for behavior that is totally natural for the dog and disgusting to us. Be more proactiev and prevent him fron rolling if at all possiable. And good luck.

Very interesting that you have and I am guessing work a dual purpose dog, but, you are asking this very basic of questions. Why would you spank a dog as a corrective measure is not something I understand either. I would use other means to train the dog to avoid engaging in behaviors that are not suited to your tastes.
