So, it tends to get pretty cold up in here Minnesota. I have noticed since the snow has been on the ground and colder temps then my dog is use to, she tends to walk different. As if the cold is bothering her feet. Does anyone recommend getting some kind of boots for the dog? Or should I just let her get use to it again?
Thanks

Paw wax may be enough to do the trick. Boots are often a complete pain;
eg sometimes won't stay on properly, dog finds them more uncomfortable
than cold feet, etc.

If it is cold enough to freeze the pads, get sled dog booties. If sled dogs can wear them while working in harness, surely your dog can tolerate them for a short time.
During a trip to Montana in the winter about twelve years ago, I stopped at a truck stop in S Dakota to let my dogs out to pee. It was sixty below zero with the windchill....all my dogs were picking up one foot and then another, holding them out of the snow. I rubbed the bottoms of their feet vigorously and they were able to tolerate the cold long enough to potty before jumping back into their crates.

I live in Canada, we walk our dogs at least twice a day in any weather, my German Shepherd doesn't need boots at all, not even in -40 Celsius, even though she is an inside dog. When it's below -30 Celsius our walks are not longer than 20 minutes at a time though, because I don't want to freeze my nose
. My Dachshund puppy get's Muttluk boots on when it's below 20 Celsius and he actually loves them.

Tails, your dogs are acclimated. My dogs come from North Carolina with me, and so sixty below is a tad colder than we are accustomed to ;)

We use Mushers Secret on our SAR dogs, during winter searches in the snow. Here's their web site.....http://musherssecret.net/
