I read that pine trees do not take rich ammonia soil well. Pine trees should not be fertilized with ammonia, so say the experts.
The reason I ask is that I am thinking of making another dog run by which two pine trees will be enclosed.
Will the urine and poops from a 70 pound GSD hurt the pine tree?
If you have actual experience with pine tree enclosed by a dog run for a large dog, please share the experience.
The trees are small now, about 6 inches at the base and 12 feet tall.

I never lost a pine tree to dog pee, if that's what you are asking! Give the ground a dose of Hollytone, and or just water them well to dilute the urine.

We have large pine trees in our back yard and they don't seem to be having any problems with our 8 dogs.
