I am not sure if everyone is aware that Lloyds TSB and Halifax have pulled the plug on pet insurance, leaving 1000s of pets with pre-existing conditions without insurance.
There is a FaceBook page covering all details https://www.facebook.com/HoundOutHalifaxandLloyds
also this blog... http://coldwetnose.blogspot.com/2012/02/tell-lloyds-ad-halifax-what-you-think.html which has downloads for flyers and templates for letter. There is a petition in existence too.
In December I will be left with a GSD approaching 10 years old who has HD, an autoimmune disorder [pyoderma], a slight heart condition called RBBB and she also has a very arthritic elbow. I cannot possibly afford the treatment to keep up her quality of life with painkillers and supplements without insurance.
I took the insurance out in 2003 fully believing it to be Life Cover ie: cover for the term of her lifetime.
The 2 previous GSDs I had were covered for life - one with Pet Plan and the other with Sainsburys, so why would I take out an insurance that didn't cover my current dog for life?
Martin Lewis spoke about this on Daybreak this morning too... a link to it is on the FaceBook page Hound Out Halifax and Lloyds
