A video of our protection training today.  Molly is getting her strength back, but has a way to go.  I am hoping that I can build her strength up so she can get a little more energy throughout the routine.  She runs out of steam quickly.  She is going to need to be stronger to get thru her Schutzhund II.

Yeah, she looked drained running the blinds. Can't comment too much as I'm watching it on my phone. Looked like Jim was using the stick to correct your dog in the side transport. Not a big fan. My dogs would get more pissed and frustrated to bite his ass. Good luck to the both of you. Hopefully she gets her stamina back. Are you gearing up for a fall trial?

We got her Sch I in May of this year.  My first time putting a Schutzhund title on a dog.  We are working for the 2 but have some work to do.  There is a trial in October, but most likely will wait until Jim has his next one at his place in the Spring.

Yes, today is the first time trying the correction by Jim on Molly during the side transport.  She started doing that  months ago and my corrections have not worked.  She is not a hard dog so she would not react like most dogs to a correciton from the helper.  She did seemed surprised and then did not do it again.  I am hoping it won't take much to correct and that this will work.  I would really hate to get thru everything and have her take a nip during the last exercise.

Like I said, I'm watching on my phone. That's why I said "it looks like". And I didn't want to say your dog is soft even though it doesn't matter. Some people get pissed, but you seem to know what you have an you work with it very well! You should feel proud of that! It's harder to train a dog with deficiencies and that is a credit to you and your club.

Sam:  Thank you.  I have learned alot about the sport working Molly.  Had to work alot harder on things, but it made me better for it and of course Jim has invested alot time in teaching me the sport and providing some alternate methods to use in training and getting her ready for trialing.   I have no illusions about Molly, but she is also part of my family, so I work the dog I have and we make the most of it.  I am hoping that I can keep in her good health and that will reflect in a bit more energy before we trial again.

I do appreciate you commenting on the video.  I know for some it is not great work, but just seeing her healthy and having fun out there again makes it a great training session to me.

Well no need to thank me! I have a lot of respect for people that can enter a race in a car that doesn't do 200 mph. And it will make you a better trainer. Your next dog will be a breeze! Good luck to you.

Kudo's to you Cheryl, you've come a long way as a handler! 

I hope you are right Sam.  I got a new pup earlier this year, so will continue to work Molly until Brenna is ready for some more serious training.  Here is a link to her pedigree

As always, thank you for all your help!  You are always there, sharing your knowledge and encouraging us to keep trying things until we get it right.  I would never had the courage to try Schutzhund without you and I am sure glad I did.  Not to mention all those pictures you have taken of Molly over the years!

Haha! Andy dog! Your luck you'll get the opposite set of problems with a dog that has over the top drive and trmendous power. I like pups from street tested dogs. Especially if they have proven it on the field too!
