If you need specialists for something go to UC Davis. They have a website, and you can make normal doctor appointments ect there. They take on all the weird and normal stuff, it gives the new vets experiance and you won't pay as much as going to a private vet .
Another highly reccomended Vet is the Bradshaw Vet in Elk Grove. They do Pinn hip and OFAs there.. they work with alot of my breeder friends dogs. I am much more south and have other excellent Vets.

Wrong!! Don't go to the UC Davis VMTH unless you want to pay through the nose. Aside from myself, other retired employees from the VMTH no longer recommend the VMTH. The cost of an office visit is $100--at the comunity practice clinic, $75. Yes, when I was an employee, I went to the VMTH almost exclusively. Lab work is more reasonable than in private practice because almost all lab work is performed within the hospital labs. In private practice, lab work isgenerally sent out and the clinic doubles the charges of outside lab fees. OFA xrays are not too bad as they do not required general anesthesia--just use dilute IV acepromazine to take the edge off.
Another highly reccomended Vet is the Bradshaw Vet in Elk Grove.
I wen to Bradshaw fo many years--primarily for xrays and minor surgeries. The last straw was in 2/2009, when I, myself, diagnosed (based on triaging of symptoms)hemangiosarcoma in my ancient Kirschental bitch and requested to have her euthanized---all to the tune of $450!!! When I complained about the charges, the vet did not return my telephone call. Now, after having been bought out by a large corporation, Bradshaw charges $3.50 for "disposal of hazardous waste material" when a disposable syringe is used.
Basically, I have no local veterinarian--and wish I did--I have to be my own damned vet. In the future, If I want OFA xrays, I will go to Redwood Veterinary Clinic in Santa Rosa. Neither Bradshaw or Redwood requires general anesthesia for OFA xrays.
If you want K-9 repro work done, see Autumn Davidson (also works one day a week at the VMTH) at the Animal Care Center in Rohnert Park--also fairly pricey.
For dentistry, I recommend Michael Floyd at the Orinda Veterinary Dental Service.

When Tony Ventura (Haus Ventura--breeder of my Kirschental bitch) took the bodies of 9 dead dogs in garbage bags, Sunrise did no gross necropsies on the bodies nor did they question the circumstances of deaths. Even more dead dogs were taken to a satellite clinic of Sunrise for more freezer space.

Welcome home!
The co-oned bitch. Eike vom Haus Ventura, I got from him was the one that VM describes so vividly as having killed her c-section litter. Think what may have happened to Eike had I turned her over to Tony for a breeding and litter--as he had demanded to be bred to his stud with mycoplasma. Except for her final hemangiosarcoma, Eike was never sick for a day in her life and thrived on a raw diet.. I know that Tony's vet dispensed bulk containers of anitibiotics to him without seeing the animals for who they were prescribed.
The satellite clinic with more freezer space was in Rancho Murrietta.
