The article says GSD mix but I don't think so.

"Two weeks ago Beavers came to the rescue of another dog, dumped just feet from him in a 6 foot deep oil pit.

"I was sitting there and I heard a dog squealing and I had an artificial limb and I didn't have it on. I heard a truck peel off and fly down the road," said Beavers.

Beavers didn't see who dumped the dog and at first couldn't even figure out where the dog was, but when he finally found her, he was able to get to her and pull her out.

"I laid down and I put the rope under her arm and pulled her out," said Beavers.

Once the dog was out he called a friend for help.

Sheila Zachar put the oil soaked dog in her car and rushed her to the Humane Society.

"Her body temperature was low and I wasn't sure if she was going to make it. I wasn't sure how much oil she ingested," said Zachar."

I am so glad he was there to help the poor dog...looks full blooded GSD to me too.  Hooray for him and boo to the gutless wonder who dumped the dog.

I know.  What a jerk.  It breaks my heart to think of that dog going for a ride in the truck with her person, and then the rude awakening of being grabbed and thrown in that pit.  Heart breaking.

Tess, the only thing I can disagree with is that it was a happy ride.  Either her owner never treated her well, or she was a stray or stolen.    Very sad.  I also agree she's full GSD.  Poor thing

Think about this...According to this news clip,  The dog was taken to a shelter, given a bath, food, and love.  She will be given all the medical attention she wil need to have her health restored. On the other hand, the homeless man was given camping equipment.  Whats the balance here?  Now isn't that awesome??? JMO
