In that the Standard and Scheduled training is directly aimed at producing a structurally-sound 'working animal', I'm rather bewildered by various generalised statements made earlier differentiating between the structure of the working dog and that of the Show animal. Thus, Mike Russell states: 'Why do the showlines insist on having a non functional structure?' Do they indeed? I foolishly believed the Standard and Scheduling was directly aimed at the opposite! Would Mike care to elaborate on what he means by 'non functional structure', and particularly how that of the working animal varies therefrom? And, GSD4 adds: There are many dogs structurally better than our top VA dogs'. Undoubtedly there must be some such animals, but 'many'? Maybe he'd also like to explain exactly in what respects they are 'better'?
