duke, absolutely agree with you that every buyer is different and has own purpose in motive to buy the dog.
problem not with buyers, who is buying the dogs to have a work partner or just pet companion.
problem are the breeders, whose bet on name isn't to increase uniformity/quality of bloodline but to promote own breeding program,
only with goal to rise up profit margin.
anyone can easily do own research in regard of dogs, whose name did become famous as stud dogs in the past 20 years
and faded into nowhere, leaving no established and recognizable bloodlines and rock solid legacy.

I didn't make this thread solely to discuss the merits of Pike, but to see what experiences others are having with linebreeding on Pike, given that he has become the world's most popular stud as of late. (Pike has produced roughly 1200~ pups vs. Tom van't Leefdaalhoff who produced roughly 175~ pups). I just figured with him being so popular, we'd start to see some linebreeding on him and was curious if people were having any success with such breedings for not so much.

Two things that come to my mind are that high level podium dogs are often not good police dogs and even if a dog is a good working dog, that doesn't mean he is a good producer. Plus, you have to consider the dam and the pedigree.
