I too would like to know why you didn't take this very sick animal to the veterinarian immediately.

I suppose I wasn't detailed enough in the process of getting to the bottom of her illness. Mainly because I never expected it to be something so extreme.

I initially tried a change in diet and that worked for a bit.

I tried boosting her immune system with kefir and that worked for a bit.

I found her to have not one, but two types of worms, treating them worked for a bit.

She was always full of energy and happy. She was never lethargic or down for the count, ever. I never, ever, EVER imagined this pup to have something like this, nor have I ever experienced anything like this.

Jill always had an excuse for the diarrhea, when she would even respond.

The pup is currently under treatment and doing better every day. The new owner's were as blindsided as me, at this point because we believed it to be EPI. SID is not such a open and close case. They are currently having more tests run.

The question is; Why would Jill sell a pup in this condition? She was four and a half months old when I got her and she admitted to the cocktail of pills being the reason for her diarrhea.

So let's be perfectly clear. I did not give this pup her illness and have her well on her way to recovery. Maybe if Jill took better care of this pup, she would have seen the signs. Feeding a pup once a day? withholding water? insisting on giving her pills that cause diarrhea when she already had it?

Really? why didn't "I" take her to the vet?

Please read the post, she was at the vet several times and not in dire need. She had a great home here and even better where she is now. I can't say the same for where she came from.

Facts are facts and at this point even I am questioning what that breeder knew treating/selling that pup. She's got her money, that is apparently all she cared about as much as she ignored my updates.

"I" am not the bad guy here, Sascha and I were the victims. Please stop trying to point the finger at me for this dog's illness.  Look at the source.  Get real.  You can know Jill and like her, but that doesn't make her right in this case. I liked her, we were a lot alike, until this.  She sold me a sick dog, knowingly or unknowingly, but SHE did it. You can spin it however you'd like.

I find this a very confusing story, sorry. It sounds like the puppy was sick when she arrived. But I truly don't understand your approach to dealing with it. Giardia is not a "type of worm."

So all that, and then you sold a sick puppy to someone else?

What did your contract with Jill say about a health guarantee?

Nobody is pointing the finger at you but was curious as a young pup that has diarrhea they become dehydrated because everything is coming out the backend. I am not defending anyone but as a breeder of 17 years you should have know better to take this pup immediately to the vet if it is blowing water out it’s rear. So this pup definitely has Sid.
