i could see it, some sluggish seriously overweight and oversize gsd doing nothing at all that was more than just mediocre, the demo of the dog around the bin thing was actually a crappy display by the dog. if that is best then my dogs are god.

the rest was all staged low level training scenarios. seemed like a corporate promotional vid.

absolutely nothing there to demonstrate breed superiority, in fact i hope the mal folks don't catch this and show some crazy ass work to rub it in our faces.

lastly i have heard police heads of dept (k9) totally against the idea of service dog having to put it in all day and night and then come home just to be harrassed by wifey and the kids, they feel it is unfair on the dog and reduces effectiveness.

would be a nice vid if it was posted as a nice vid but saying this exemplifies why the gsd is the best is kind of embarrassing.

thats just my take on it, individual results will vary.

I cant see it either, but, what breed superiority are you talking about?
I can show you hundreds of malinois videos that would make you drool, police work and otherwise.

by vk4gsd on 25 April 2014 - 10:04

Oh shit i was hoping hd would miss this thread, so glad you can't see it.

lemme explain think an israel dogs clip and then divide it by 1000 and you will get what you can't see.

by ZweiGSD on 25 April 2014 - 15:04

Video shows the versatility (or balance or whatever you want to call it) of the GSD.  They can be a working police dog and be a great family dog.  Video also shows the bond of the handler with the dog.

Sorry it didn't show any flashy bitework to drool over.  Police dogs are about results, not flash.

I could argue several points with vk4gsd but don't have the time or the inclination.

Gee, don't you think "ZweiGSD" is a hint as to my favorite breed?

That sable dog IS a lard-ass though, isn't he ?

I also like the sable dog a lot.

by hollenhundkennels on 27 April 2014 - 03:04

The sable looked fat to me also, and no not the flashiest of bitework, also not "sport dogs" saw some decent steady bites, no shifting, no chewing.

Regardless of the quality of the scenarios/bitework, I would nt argue with the officer holding the leash of that fat bastard.

It was quite obvious the video was focused more on the home life of the dog than work. vk4gsd go hide from my partner and see if it hurts any less than your isreali dog vids when he locates you, oh by the way he is find and bite, weather you lie motionless or resist. He has had quite a bit of experience dealing with the criminal element over the years.Wink Smile
