Hi All,
I'm not brand new to the forum, nor am I new to GSDs. However, later this week I am going to be fostering/taking on an 8 month old bitch who has epilepsy.
It's not severe and I know of GR who has a few TDex's whilst suffering from/living with canine epilepsy.
Are there any things I should look out for or be aware of, aside from dealing with the seizures when they occur.
At the moment, Feli has only minor seizures and recovers within a couple of minutes of on ending. She has medication for it but I'm assuming it may need to be altered or increased as she grows into a bigger dog.
Anyone with experiences of this who don't mind sharing please? I've read the more heartbreaking threads of epilepsy through certain GSD lines. Feli had a lot of interest from people because she's a puppy but thi sevaporated when people learned that she has epilepsy. Soof course, being a sucker for puppies, I had to offer her a home; although I'm no tknowledgeable about idiopathic epilepsy in dogs.
