How much should a 4 month old female pup weigh. I bought a female and have had her a month. Both parents are titled and come from a well known breeder. My female only weighs 28 lbs and her sister is even smaller than that. Is this normal and will she meet the breed standard when she is mature. Thank you

She will be a nice medium size dog, which is great.

Yes that sounds good! She should be between 60 - 65 lbs when full grown.

Wild, Do a google search for " weight and height chart for the German Shepherd Dog". She is on the light side, but there can be so many reasons for this. Some grow slower earlier, new enviroment, and on and on. Make sure you get some good stool samples for parisites, and feed her quality food. Stay away from grocery store foods. I like to give raw hamburger with dinner meals. Does she look skinny? How is her overall health, coat etc? How active is she? How does she eat? Is she finicky or a chow hound? If she is finicky then you need to post so you can get advice on finicky eaters. Be careful of pampering her if she is finicky. You are wise to ask. Better to have a real peace of mind now and know if there is something you need to do. I would also check with breeder. Good luck with her.
