I just read that yesterday Costco recalled some of its canned dog food, chicken & rice, and lamb and rice (I don't know what the expiration dates on can are). And there were others. I also read that contaminated Chinese rice meal had been fed to pigs and had now entered the human food supply in the USA. Where and when will this end. You can bet that the US FDA will be scambling to quiet this down and will be doing a lot of investigating of the human food contamination.

Preston, I believe it is Diamond that makes Costco's food and I thought I read your information that you posted on Diamonds web site. I don't know anymore. I read so much about who has a product being recalled anymore that I forget who said what. Sad situation isn't it? Bidy...

by Preston on 29 April 2007 - 01:04

Yes Birdy, it is a very sad situation. I just don't want to feed any of my pets contaminated food, nor do I want to eat it either. Some say that the sick dogs are equivalent to the dead canaries in the coal mine and that anything that entered the premium petfood supply lines is probably already in the human food supply lines, since many of the raw and/or processed components come from the same sources in China.

I hate that the FDA put out that only 16 dogs have been efffected by this. This is so misleading. You talk to the vets and they have a very high increase of sick animals with no biopsy's they can not give correct diagnoses. However, they are all getting fluid under the skin. The hog farmers are now going to be effected by this, their financial situation and farms. What do they feed the chickens, are they next? We should never be outsourcing food or anything that goes into our food supply. If you look at a poulation map, most of our population lives on the coasts of the US. That is alot of land in between for the farmers. How many are subsdized not to grow items?

As for the latest food recalls itcho.com has evidence that the problem is much more of an issue already than most people realize. It's a massive problem that is mounting. I find the politics of food frightening because of the power of the lobbyists that control the industry. We also have to worry about genetically modified food as well as tainted food and unless people act soon, we're all going to be affected because it has indeed already become an issue. GMO technology is increasing; they're playing tic tac toe in the skies; the honey bees are disappearing and people are simply not outraged enough. What was it Einstein said about our existence without bees?

by Preston on 29 April 2007 - 20:04

Abby K, you really understand what is going on. I appreciated your comment on the apparent chemtrails and their boron and aluminum and carbon nano particles, and the genetically engineered food which some scientists believe is killing the bees. Idoggie2, you make important points here, too. If folks don't wake up soon and pressure their gov'ts and start boycotting bad food the heath of our pets be taken from us and our health too.

One of the main culprets killing honey bees is a the bee mite. This has been tracked and proven. I am not saying we don't have a food safety problem, we do. Pressure your state and federal government to implement full Country of Origin Labeling (COOL) for all food production and processing. And remember, Canada is still finding cases of BSE (mad cow desease) yet the US beef processors are still importing beef and we are buying it.
