I feed canidae and nature's variety. NV has no grain, but I like both products. Nature's variety also makes a frozen meat pattie that is good for picky dogs or dogs who are so active that it is hard to keep weight on them.
feeding canidae i find stools are very small, arguably one of the better litmus tests for a quality food. I would never feed a food with corn or wheat in the first 3 to 5 ingredients. Even higher market foods like Iams/eukanuba/science diet, royal canin, and all purina products contain high amts. of grain to meat ratio.
Innova is another food that is grain free and seems to be very high quality, but also somewhat hard to find.

We feed only Canidae now. We also sell it. We had some real problems with Diamond, so we went to just Canidae. If anyone in the Dayton Ohio area needs it, let us know.

I feed Canidae to all my dogs ranging in age from 5 months to almost 15 yrs. They seem to be doing fine on it. As far as I know, the food is safe. Their website says that they only use grains from the US. If anyone knows anything different, please advise.

I am. I switched to it when my dog was about 8 months old (he's 20 months now). I had tried almost every food out there before figuring out that he didn't do well on anything with corn in it. I used Natural Balance (also on a recall list now) and he did well on that. I eventually switched to Canidae though (it was cheaper than N.B. and everything I read about it seemed good). He's doing very well - fur is shiny, he's full of energy, and yeah, not as much poop to pick up.

I've been feeding it since the China problem reared it's ugly head. Both of my males like it and their stool is good, and they are full of energy.

I feed mostly RAW but use Canidae some. It is a good food. A friend has used it for a long time and her dogs do well on it, one old man is 13.5 years.

I've been feeding Canidae from before all the recalls started. It's working well for my 12 month GSD and my 4 month Malinois.
Once the recalls started, I talked my girlfriend into switching to Canidae. She has a Lab mix, Maltese, and a Dutch Shepherd pup from my last litter. All are doing fine and there were no stool problems during the change in food.
