Has anyone had any experience using the military foster program for deploying military personnel? Obviously, when my husband deployed our two GSDs stayed at home with me. I can't imagine what single soldiers do if family members cannot take their pets. The website I provided to the person asking me was: https://www.netpets.org/militarypet/foster.php Apparently, she was at the vet's office over the weekend and ran into a soldier who was quite upset about having to give up his 1 year old male GSD because he was deploying. She took his card with his name and number. She asked me this morning if I would be interested. Unfortunately, I do not have room for another GSD :( I suggested to her that he look into the foster program and our local GSD rescue in Atlanta. Any other suggestions or anything I might have missed??? Thanks!

I have heard of a lot of Military having to give up their dogs. It is very sad. What a great idea, about the ressuces, they have foster parents in place.
