Just came into the office today:
There is a recall of pigs ears sold at BJ's, Costco,Sam's clubs. They are being recalled for salmonella bacteria. Vets offices all over the US had this faxed to them today.

what about from petsmart? my dogs love pigs ears and its always nice to distract them from general mayhem with a pigs ear. by the way, thanks for the heads-up.

I read the link. Is it only the 25 count Berkley and Jensen brand? I buy the 25 count pig ears from Costco but they are made by Scott Pet Products. Just want to be sure, I wouldn't want any of my dogs to get sick.

I get my 25 count of pig ears at Sam's club and I just called them to make sure. They put me on hold and went on their site for all recalls and their pig ears are not on recall.

I had a bag of the affected pig ears from BJ's. If you have one, and are going to try and get a refund, make sure you print out the recall notice in the link to the FDA snd bring it with you. I took my bag to the cutomer no service desk, and was informed that there was no recall---even though all the product had been removed from the shelves. I produced the recall paper, and they gave me my refund.

I'm starting to get the feeling that we are being attacked by terrorists. My dogs left toe nail just got recalled.....I think they are tryng to scare us and it is working....I haven't left the bunker since the royal canine recall was announced....I'm starting to run out of ai.........................r.........

WHAT ROYAL CANIN RECALL??? There's no mention of that on their website as of just now.
BTW: Does anyone know who really owns Royal Canin these days? Is it Hill's?
This stuff is really getting ugly!

This is not the first recall on pigs' ears for salmonella contamination. It's happened before, not sure which brands were involved the first time.
