feeding puppies - Page 1

How many times a day should weaning puppies be fed? Thanks in advance

I free feed puppies, keeping an eye on them that there are no stomach problems or excessive weight gain.

Can't leave food with them all the time, because mom growls at them around food.

Hello Firefly...The number of times you feed your puppies all depends on the puppies themself...and their age...If you are just starting to ween them...I would try 2 times a day...but be sure to separate them from Mama first...If the pups are still eating off Mama then this is fine...but in a short period of time I would be feeding the pups 3 times a day...Usually Mama will say enough of this stuff..."your hurting me and leave me alone"...At which time she is telling her pups that it's time to eat on their own...But will still try and suckle off Mama when they can...or when she'll let them...I hope this helps some...
