Why are you looking for info, are you looking to purchase him? Just curious.

GSDfan - actually, yes, I am interested in purchasing him. I'm just not really up on the show lines, and wanted some opinions. :-)

any ideas on the exact meaning of Noch Zugelassen? I translate to be "yet allowed"???

Noch Zuglassen = lowest hip rating.

"noch Zugelassen" is what it says "still allowable" and is the lowest passing hip score in the S.V. system. It is often thought to be the equivilent of O.F.A. "fair" to "borderline dyplasie". Be aware that several dogs who recieve this rating do receive a better rating later in life from an agency such as the O.F.A., but once the hip quality is determined initially by the S.V. then it remains that stated quality.
In cases such as this, the Zuchtwert (ZW) score is important for determining what this dog could produce-not what he is. Of course we would all prefer "a" Normal in all of our breeding dogs, but hips alone are not the most important thing in deciding whether to use a dog for reproduction. There are other quailties that can force this decision.
Look at it this way-if a dog had "a" Normal hips and a ZW of 90 or less; would we use him if he produced faulty hips, poor temperament, poor pigment, and poor conformation? No we would not. Hip quality is important-there is no doubt about that. But more important is what the dog can produce-not what he is.
