Does anyone know the name of the Wisconsin based company that builds dog treadmills? ...or any other company that sells them in the US. Thanks in advance, Eric

I have seen some dog treadmills around, but they were VERY expensive. I hadent looked into it very much and probably only visited 2 websites. Not familiar with the company you mentioned there, sorry I cant help :-\. You could try just buying a human treadmill at walmart or something and putting sides on it so the dog cant get off. Im sure its bascially the same thing, mabey not though. It might be a lot cheaper if you do it that way. I plan on building my dog one soon when I get some extra money laying around. Hope this helps. you need to get a proper dog treadmill. If you get one built for a human which is 5 feet in length you will shorten your dogs stride and totally defeat the purpose of the treadmill. the best treadmill out there is jog a dog treadmill which is 7 feet long and goes up to 10 miles per hour.

Why don't you just take your dog/s for a run?

i do A lot of tread mill work with my dogs and clients dogs there are many good things that come from usining one. One is the bonding you and your dog can do together it is a team effort. plus under a watchfull and trained eye puttinh a dog on the treadmill is far superior then x-rays when it comes to hip, elbow, and spine issues you can tell severity to slight discomfort just by watching your dogs movement, gate tracking, spine alignment leg swin, iknuckle drag. were an x-ray is only good for a point in time and under sedation it really is not the tell all of problems muscles become relaxed do to sedation thus for automatic laxation. the difference to running your dog on a mill to running them on the groung is that it is much easier to study and condition the dog there is no uneven groung so there is no adjustment in enviorment only in canid. I would not get a powered mill because that takes the conditioning right out of it. you want the dog to power it up stop the mill reverse the mill set it up on blocks have them run uphill then down hill, and what i do is work them on the mill by putting them on a static bite and make them back pedal by fighting me on the bite they are pulling so we do that uphill downhill etc. here is a website of a gentleman that conditions dogs and develops them on the mill www.martinsk9formula.com. you can also use the mill to increase drive and strenghten tempermant by having the dog work through its unsurity for it is not a normal concept for them to be mechanically moving but at the same time staying in one place. i am al for milling the German Shepherd Dog my dogs atart at 6weeks on the mill and i work them constantly Steve Simpkins Sorry about grammar and punct. english is not my strong point
