Depressed Stud Dog - Page 1

Hi Everyone! Well, my bitch finally came in heat, but I sent her away, I don't want puppies this time. My stud dog is going NUTS, he misses her SO very much, and refuses to eat. She won't be coming back for a while, and I know he will EVENTUALLY eat, but I would like to make him feel better. He is so MOPEY, and really lathargic. Wont eat, only lies by the door, which is the last thing he saw, me pulling her though the door to my car. Is there anything I can do for him? I've been taking him for more walks, and he's good, but we get back, he starts moping again. I hate seeing him like this, and normally we just put the bitch in a cage, and he's okay with that, because she's in his eye sight, but he thinks we just took her away, never to return again. Is there ANYTHING I can do, anything I can give him to make him feel better?

Get him another playmate, you can never have enough!

he'll get over it. one of my boys gets a wrinkled brow when girls are in season, and he won't eat while they are breedable. this happens even if he is used for breeding. no permanent damage of the psyche, he will perk right up again afterward. (and do it all again 6 months later)
