This spot under the left nostril is new and bright pink. It is not an inflammation, not a bite or wound, no recent injury but we did work in an area yesterday that was more pubic than normal. What is it? any ideas? Could it be environmental? a tumor?

He's not itching, doesn't seem painful when I push on it any more than the other side.  It appeared today. Was black yesterday.

..."more pubic than normal".... sorry just gotta laugh! Seems that could be your problem.

But seriously, does your dog like to bury things, pushing with his nose? Looks like a "rub burn" to me.

My thought, most likely nothing, rubbed his nose the wrong way or something.

I'd keep an eye on it, as the nose can be a weird place for some stuff.

I meant more public  ROFLMAO. Darn typo's. That's funny.

He wasn't burying things but he did spend alot of time biting a guy in  a suit yesterday.

That's not a typo, that's a freudian slip!

Your dog has a very cute face!!!

I think it's going to blacken up again in about a week,
no swelling, so it just looks like he had his nose a little
too close to the ground, I guess he'd be a great tracking dog!!

Not to worry.................

As long as his nose wasn't near any public toliets.......

I has had the same with one dog, but more big and ignited. I assumed that it was a cat. I changed additionally the feed and wait. All was fine. I before consulted the vet, which unlocked a tumor or an allergy. Afterwards I do not have an ointment, no pills, no oil, simply nothing used... and it disappeared from alone during 3 weeks. Good luck!
