This is Duke back in Nov., I havn't been able to get a stacked photo of him as he is usually on the go and with no one to hold him as I snap the shot, this is what I got. His back legs are way to forward. Just looking for some comments on him. Aside from his "little issue", he really is a great boy.I took pics yesterday out in the woods having a blast in the snow, but my camera sometimes refuses to give up the pics I took (don't buy a kodak Z730 if you want ease in pic taking).

Any suggestions for books or DVD on training. I found a schutzhund club about 100 miles where I'm hoping to get this next week. I really would like to know what's the usual as far as training. As I've stated, I've never done it before. Thanks

For a young dog I suggest the DVD by Bernhard Flinks "Building Drive & Focus" that is available at http://www.leerburg.com as well as any other Bernhard Flinks articles and those done by Ivan Balabanov.

Best Regards,

This pup looks way too heavy. It may just be the photo, but you should be able to see a waistline from above and also when panting, see at least a faint outline of the last rib. If you intend to do any sport, keeping the dog lean is imperative. As for his structure, without a proper stack it is difficult to say much. Get someone to help you and try to get him positioned a little better. The most important thing is that he is a pup. Enjoy him. And yes, the Flinks DVD is excellent if you don't listen to the narrative inserted by someone else. Bernhard Flinks is in this country in March and later and in several states. If you are near one of the clubs presenting seminars, consider going. You will learn a lot, even though it will cost you. You can find information about those seminars on this site under "Trainer" listings.

Good luck.
