We have a male at of a 3 time repeat breeding. The initial vet visit both testes were down. We sold the puppy after the first set of inoculations and visit. We recommend our customers to follow up with there vet with in 24 4 to 48 hours, the person brought him to there vet both testis intact, this guy went for another opinion of the dog with a full check at a canine nutritionist and behavioral consultant and the dog was found to have both testis intact and down.  Around 4 months or so

Six months later this client brings there dog to the vet because he strained himself on some obstacles and now he had one non descending testis.

But all other check up previous with our vets his vet himself and other professionals showed they were both down. So after months of prodding and poking one decided to leave.

I have read and i can’t find were that if the dogs’ testis were intact up to 12 weeks they were to stay down. i heard that excessive fondling at them can either cause the dog to retract therefore getting one to stay up on the interior wall. Or even disintegrating them since they are soft formed.

Please help me understand what happened here

I had the same thing happen. Both testicles were down at 10 weeks, At a vet check at 5 months, only one testicle was down. The vet had no real explaination. I did some research and found that there is really no explaination to this except that it does sometimes happen.

I was told that every time you poke at them they pull them up and if the inner ring isnt closed they cant get caught up and obviously stay up.

I too had this in a lovely puppy that I was going to keep to show.  At 12 weeks - DEFINATE - even the owner of the sire who viewed him checked also, and it was definate.... whislt grooming at 6 months,,,,,, found only one.  ???  Explanation i was given from my vet was that there was a short cord to one testicle, and the dog had "grown around it" making it there, but not palpable.  Very sad, but it happens I guess.  Mo
