When your dogs dig holes do they put things in them?  Every time Drake digs a whole he goes and gets all of his toys in the yard and drops them in and looks at them, one at a time.  Then he'll grab one and run around the yard with it then go get another, it is too funny.  Not that I want any more holes, and they're DEEP.  I have to fill this one in because I don't want one of them to step in it and get hurt.  He's staring at his favorite ball and has two more victims on the ground nearby waiting their turn.  The second pic is my dogwood in it's full fall color, it's really pretty and I just had to share.

I had one that would drop rocks in mud puddles then dive in after them.  Beautiful tree!

That is too funny!  Heck if my dogs did that, my hubby would be putting them in it!

I love the red dogwood by the way!  Beautiful.

My 4yo female, Bree, started a similar game but in the house.  She drags their toy box to the middle of the floor, dumps out all the toys, then starts putting them back in one at a time.  After she puts a toy in she picks up the box lid (it's a seperate piece) bangs it on the top of the box, steps back looks in the box, then starts it all over again with the next toy until she gets them all back in the box and starts the whole thing over again.  When she gets tired of the game she drags the box back to it's normal spot and puts the lid on then goes off to do other things!

RIkka's thing is that she will not go out the door in the morning unless she has a toy of some sort in her mouth.  She is sure that sometime in the night someone has come into the yard and stolen the dozens of toys that are already out there.

My dog has made so many holes in the garden, he loves digging and burying toys, if he sees you watching he will dig up the toy and dig another hole to put it in. My husband spent hours filling the holes in at the weekend only for Jasper to go out and re dig them!! He was not amused, the rest of us were though. If he can't get out he will jump on the chairs and bury things at the back of the cushions, a good game, oh well who wanted a nice garden? See the culprit at work.LOL

They are just too funny.  bsceltic, I wish everybody in my house was as neat as your dog!  Picks up after herself and puts everything away, LOL.

Sparrow,

Isn't that the truth!!!  What a dog.

The only thing I can think of that mine does is when I let Apache out of her kennel, she waits patiently for Savage to be let out of hers and then runs into Savage's kennel and steals all her toys, running them into her kennel, back and forth, until she has them all.  Then, she joins Savage in a game of tag with no thought for them.  (I guess she's saving them for later.)

sparrow - funny dog and lovely tree!

bsceltic - what a clever dog! angus and claire will follow me around when i'm picking up their toys and as i'm putting them in their "toy chest", they're right behind me taking them out again. like toddlers!

I love stories like this. Wow Sparrow that IS a deep hole..............and wha a beautiful tree..............My girl gets chewies and takes them out and digs holes--her main place is in my flowerpots.   She only stated doing tht this year-then she brings them back in coated with mud and so proud of herself.   My boy's  thing is to carry his toys around too, remnds me of a golden thing.................
