Drake passed his CGC last night!!  I am SO proud of him.  I was not pre-registered so they tacked me on at the end at about 9:30.  I had arrived early (6:15) to make sure I'd be there if they had room.  Needless to say he was rather bored by test time.  I was concerned about the "meet the stranger with another dog" part because he LOVES other dogs and it was the cutest little bi-black Sheltie girl.  He aced every part!!  He wasn't right on like usual but he listened to my body language and just did his thing.  There was no apprehension with the wheelchair/walker/cane distractions and he's never been around any of those things.  He just went over and sniffed them and then said hello to the people, no problem!  He's only 8 1/2 months, MY BOY!

Very good! Big congrats.  I think it's a pity that AKC won't list our CGC's on their pedigrees.   I realize they're not as hard as a CD, but it would still be nice if they'd acknowledge these on their pedigrees.  It takes time and effort to prepare for them.  Kudos to you.

It did make me feel really good, hubby insisted he wasn't ready but I'm the one who works him and I just know he could do it.

Side note: I could have sworn someone on this board mentioned that if a dog has had bite work they can't be a Therapy dog.  I asked the tester about it when I was at a tracking seminar a couple of weeks ago and she said she hadn't heard that.  She told me last night she looked into it and SchH dogs can participate.  Did I read that wrong??

Thanks everybody for the well wishes!
