could someone tell me what is the exact stages of falling of milk teeth and coming of the final?
Do the teeth fall off like humans??. My 4 month old male GSD had a drop of blood in his mouth yesterday. I don;t play too hard tugs and Kongs with him.
But I have to give him a bite else he starts biting furniture and human legs and arms :)
Is it normal for some blood to come out when milk teeth are falling and being replaced???
regards
Bikram

Vikram,
Yes, I believe the age (4 months) and the small amount (drop or so of blood) is very normal when loosing teeth, especially if the pup was playing with something or chewing on something at that time.

I have saved some of my pups teeth, but sometimes you don't notice them falling out, they also may even
swallow their teeth.
I had to pull a pups baby tooth out before, cause the big adult fang was coming in beside the baby tooth,
I got a dry paper towel and got a good grip on the tooth, wiggled back & forth & it came right out!
The baby teeth can cause problems if they don't fall out when they should, causing other teeth to become crooked
or misaligned.
My sister has a chihuahua that is going to be neutered and they have to pull out some baby teeth also.

I'm just a little anxious because I don;t want my pup to have a teeth fault.
So I want to know some things I should be careful about.

Just went through this. Totally normal for a drop of blood to accompany loosing a baby tooth. The worry comes when adult tooth is showing a lot and baby tooth is not even loose yet. We had to have 5 pulled on our terrier pups recently. Another issue is that infection can come from food accumulating in space between adult tooth and unshed baby tooth. Best to let your vet deal with it, he can lightly anesthesize the dog and pop the baby teeth right out. Vary minor proceedure and the retained teeth can really mess up the bite.

BTW, I think it is totally OK to give pups things to chew on. Helps loosen the baby teeth and develop muscle for the bite and to help ears stand up. I give raw shank bones but Kongs and puppy tugs are good for that too.
