does anyone recommend this kennel?/ a friend asked me to look into it, but he has no dogs posted/so no pedigrees.

that's what i'm looking for the pedigrees?? what is he bringing in ALL LINES??? or just working??

i know he is a big wig with schutzhund but are the dogs truly PROTECTION DOGS, for a family home alone with just the mom.

meaning will this dog REALLY PROTECT???

I dunno...

Can the dog really protect it's owner(s) once hes shot up pretty badly by a desperate robber?

I have found that it is better to bring a trainer with you and test the dogs yourself. If someone is selling a protection dog then make sure to test the dog in real life situation (civil/Hidden sleeve) do not test a dog that you are paying a substantual amount of money with a sleeve.

SCHUTZHUND DOGS are NOT Personal Protection dogs they are sport dogs.

Although they can be trained for Personal Protection or police but don't assume a title will protect you. This is why it is very important to test WITHOUT equipment.

It also depends on your definition of personal protection dogs. I have had people try to tell me they want a personal protection dog and are experienced handlers. When I have showed them what a dog could do, they get scared. I've also had people tell me they want personal protection dgos, then when I've met with them they describe a scenario where they want the dog loose on the property, and to let their friends in while stopping "intruders" (how is the dog supposed to know the difference?) so first you need to describe what you mean by "personal protection" dog. Do you mean a manstopper? Do you mean a dog that is safe around kids and LOTS of strangers coming into the house but will look threatening? Lots of people I've talked to really only want a dog that will bark threateningly, they have no idea what it means to own a dog with bite work, nor is everyone capable of handling a high drive personal protection dog. What exactly do YOU mean by a personal protection dog? I have worked at this academy before, and have helped happy clients there. Howie will generally determine what your'e looking for, and what you're capable of handling, and then match you with the dog you need and are capable of handling (not everyone is capable of handling a manstopper type dog). But it was my experience that you're matched up with a dog that is suitable for your handling skills there, and I have some inside experience because I worked for them for awhile.
