Is there anyway to find out if registration has been submitted for a breeding that took place in Germany but bitch whelped in US?  Dog is nearly 7months, still no papers and something has recently happened that is starting to make things stink!!!  I'm also looking for someone that could confirm that tattoo is legit......

I'd prefer pm's as I don't want to air dirty laundry until I have facts.  Thanks in advance

If the litter was born in the US you will need AKC papers, it makes no difference where the litter was bred.  There is  a form that needs to be signed by the owner of the Stud dog stating that is the male that was bred to the female.  You will not get SV papers.

Breeding took place in Germany? Can be checked through the official "Decknachrichten".

Tattoos are easy to check as well, everything (legal) can be traced nowadays.

Contact me through my website: www.bloggen.be/hd if you please.

If the bitch was bred in Europe and pups whelped here you will recieve Pink Papers. It can take some time to recieve. I hav done thid severa times.  If you used a broker or unknown breeder then flip a coin. Good Luck.

Ryan can you please tell me the procedure for getting the pink papers.  I have a situation where the breeding was done in Europe but the whelp was here in the US and have no idea what steps to take to get the pink papers.  Thank you in advance.

If you can get SV papers on a litter whelped in the US Ryan, you have some inside info that no one else in the US has!  AKC issues papers on US born litters.   No matter where the mating act took place or the sire lives.  Born here - US Bred. Policemom you can register for pedigrees that look like pink papers with the United Sch Club -BUT THEY AINT REAL PINK PAPERS!

JRT, I disagree. The kennel that did the breeding registers the pups with the SV in the country where the breeding took place.. I have a slovakian and German dog that were wheped here and recieved pink papers 6-8 months later. It is up to the kennel (breeder) to do the paperwork. You can then, obviosly resister with the AKC here vis a vis pink papers. There is nothing one can do from here. Contact the breeder and get  a status update. I have heard of people waiting up to 10 months or longer. If it is a reputable kennel then expect the papers soon. Your only course of action is to contact the breeder or the SV here and give tataoo number. I have never tried that method and suspect it is not easy. Which kennel completed thr breeding and sold the pregnant bitch?

I too, have never heard of SV pink papers being issued to American born litters.

UScA has their own system in regards to registering a foreign bred litter,..but they are not SV registered/issued pink papers..(pedigrees).

I can only speak from experience. I have done it twice. If the kennel is in Europe, it is my understanding they register the litter. I am not stating there are not two ways of doing it. I am adressing an inuiqiry that I have experience with to satisfaction.....)

If the kennel in Europe is registering the litter....then they are registered as Foreign Born...and are registered in their country.

If the litter is registered as USA or American born...they are registered with only AKC papers.......AKC is the (registry) for American born litters.  If a litter is registered (as born in another country)...they will have the recognized litter registry for that country.......there is no other way "legitimately" of registering a " foreign bred, American born" litter...that I am aware of.
