Wow, your welcome. I often read but don't often post...too much ingrattitude for my very expensive education in the past. But one thank you has made my week. :-) What was the question about chicken? My dogs (German Shepherds/Dobermanns) all eat a raw chicken quarter in the AM. As long as it is handled as you would human food, I think it's great. I have fed wings to weaning puppies, backs/necks--but not enough meat for me, legs, even raised my own, and fed them whole after slitting the neck.
Have a wonderful day. A powerful thing that 'Thank you.'

Does anyone "out there" feed living things to their dogs? Like chickens or rabbits? Just wondering.

My Rosie at the neighbors easter chicken, green feathers, beak and feet , as I yelled "nine Rosie" , as I saw the feet disappear....another shepherd pup out of the Bastin" grkid , eats live chickens all the time,,,feathers and alll..They live in the country and the neighbors chicks are always coming in the yard and he has a ball , using his prey drive and his fastness to nab him one and sometimes two. Helps on the food bill....lol

Have to say, Drafno that my 7 year old SchH3 lad loves chasing rabbits and catching them. He'll then happily sit there and eat the lot.
Oh and DoggieDr, your very expensive education didn't extend to basic spelling then. It's 'you're welcome' not 'your welcome'.

My dogs do not get live food, but not for a lack of trying. I allow a little chasing of the fowl on my brother's farm, but then a recall reinforces my authority as pack leader. I don't necessarily want them thinking they can help themselves to other animals as meals. I am the food source for them, they need to rely on me to provide food, fun, entertainment, leadership, and "punishment". We have had a few mishaps, unfortunately. If given a turned shoulder, I have no doubt that Gipsi would take out LegHorn the rooster, and relish every taste morsel of that minion of Satan.
They all eat a balanced raw diet that I provide.

Oh what would this community be without at least one grammar policeman.
I'd take a polite and giving vet over a grammar nut anyday,,,,
